Evie is an outgoing, playful young girl. She is energetic and intelligent and very eager to learn. Her gorgeous glossy black coat and soft floppy ears make her a real stunner. She is a good natured, exuberant dog, loves people and other dogs and is cat-sociable. She is still learning about good behaviour and needs to clearly understand her boundaries so she knows what is acceptable, but given consistent direction she picks this up quickly.
Evie needs plenty of physical and mental activity. A possible Kelpie-Labrador mix, she can be over-stimulated and get over-excited, so she needs structured games and regular brisk exercise. Evie loves treat toys and playing with her young Border Collie foster sister, and going out for long walks is one of her favourite things. She is very affectionate and loves a quick cuddle and head scratch between games.
She is toilet trained and crate trained. She visibly relaxes in her crate, with her blanket and toy, otherwise she seems to feel compelled to find “work” to do (otherwise known as mischief to those around her).
Evie is manageable on lead, but could do with ongoing lead-training as her energy and curiosity can get the better of her sometimes. She has learned to sit and looks so proud to get it right! She is getting the hang of drop, stay and come as well.
Evie would love a home with an energetic single or couple, or would fit well with a high-energy family that can provide enough activity and mental stimulation to contain her boundless energy and curiosity. Above all, she will need to feel part of a family and know that she is loved.
